Journey into Yoga
Start your spiritual practice.
In this 2.5 hour workshop you will be introduced to Yoga as one of the world’s oldest spiritual practices, a pathway to self-realisation through practices that incorporate body mind and spirit.
The goal of the workshop is to introduce you to how you can apply yoga to your life and create a personalised spiritual practice utilising yogic philosophy.
Throughout this course we will look at yoga as a path to self-realisation and spiritual enlightenment. This path can be followed in a systematic way and provides us with tools to live a meaningful and purposeful life
The steps that you will be guided through are a prescription for moral and ethical conduct and self-discipline. The actions you take as a result of following these steps direct attention toward maintaining your health and towards the spiritual aspect of our nature.
The information in this course will be presented in a modern, western context. Know that by having an awareness of, and including just a few of the practices or variations of into your daily life you will be on the way to establishing your own unique spiritual practice that is right for you.
In this workshop you will be introduced to:
- Asana – (a 60 minute Purna style practice). Learn how and why you should move your body in every way, every day to create physical, mental and energetic balance and harmony.
- Pranayama – learn how to control your life-force through breath
- Meditation – learn to focus your mind and ignite your connection to the divine
- Philosophy – learn how to live a spiritual life by applying yogic philosophy to your life.
You will leave feeling balanced, calm and confident that you can create change in your life, enhance and personalise your spiritual practice.

Kristen has been practicing yoga for over 12 years, having trained in Iyengar, Hatha and Vinyasa styles she completed her teacher training in Purna Yoga which is an integrated style. Her interest in yoga goes beyond the physical and into the metaphysical aspects including meditation, breathwork, philosophy and the energetics of the chakra system. Her teaching style is integrative, nurturing and accessible. Kristen believes that everyone can access the the benefits of yoga.
Kristen has been a Kinesiology practitioner since 2006. Trained in Sports Kinesiology she has an intimate knowledge of the human body and it’s energetic structure.
Kristen runs a private practice and has experience facilitating workshops and for individuals and organisations. She has spoken at events such as the Mind Body Spirit Festival and Evolve Yoga Festival.
