Gentle Strength Yoga
Our gentle strengthening yoga style is a variation of Hatha (sun/moon) and works the muscles and nervous system in a succession of functional postures, providing the body with the tools to develop strength and resilience, while increasing flexibility, discipline and focus.
Soothing Yin Yoga
Our soothing style of yoga, (Yin Yoga) is the process of working with less responsive tissues in the body, fascia, ligaments, tendons and joints. These are tissues that become compressed and bound up with stress and day to day activities like sitting.
Yin yoga takes the body through a series of long holds (3-5 minutes) providing gentle traction on the joints, releasing fixation and the stress of compression.
Yin yoga incorporates a meditation component and is an excellent stress release therapy.
Weekly Yoga Classes:
Mondays at HARK YOGA in Ferntree Gully.
This foundation class is for everyone to build strong and safe yoga practices. The focus is on alignment, building strength and endurance through a series of more static and traditional Hatha postures at a slow and steady pace.
6 pm Flow and Yin
Begin class with active postures and flow and finish with gentle, release and relaxation movements.
Private Yoga Lessons:

Kristen Ross is a qualified sports kinesiologist, counsellor, yoga and meditation teacher.
As a former professional dancer and yoga practitioner for over 15 years, Kristen believes that establishing a healthy mind-body connection is key to enjoying a healthy and happy life.
Kristen has completed multiple yoga teacher training in Purna, Yin yoga and Meditation. Her work with yoga goes beyond the physical.
Kristen includes meditation, breathwork, philosophy, mantra and energetics to create a holistic practice with a focus on self-compassion and care.
Kristen’s teaching style is integrative, nurturing and individualised.
Kristen runs a private kinesiology practice in Melbourne and has experience facilitating workshops and for groups, individuals and organisations. She has spoken about the mind-body connection at events such as the Mind Body Spirit Festival and Evolve Yoga Festival.
